Piussi Giacomo

Giacomo Piussi, an artist from Friuli, was born in Udine in 1967, A graduate of the Academy in Milan and with a mother who is a painter, Piussi is mainly a painter but also daring with sculptures in plaster, bronze and terracotta, which are also very appreciable because of the poetic language they share with painting.
Painting, a more immediate technique, depicts mainly imaginary people, especially women, caught in moments of silence and intimacy inside their homes, on the sofa, in the shower, at the table, about to enter the bathtub, at the mirror or reading a book. A simple and evocative vision of domestic attitudes.

The artist, who lives and works in Florence, has exhibitions in Siena, Forlì, Florence, Bari, Milan, Rome and Paris to his credit, and has collaborated in numerous group shows in Lisbon and Amsterdam. That of “Visionary” is the first exhibition in his hometown, all dedicated to painting, although Piussi has also devoted himself to other techniques and materials, from sculpture on bronze to bas-reliefs in stone and terracotta and murals. On a pictorial level, the artist expresses himself through a figurative language made up of elementary forms.
