PESCE PIERGIUSEPPE

Piergiuseppe Pesce was born in Naples in 1965 and trained first at the Liceo Artistico in Naples and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia as a costume designer. He currently lives and works in Gualdo Tadino, in the province of Perugia. Recovering the provocative criticism of the Dada movement and the biting cynicism of Pop Art, the artist turns his attention to the objects, the myths and the languages of the consumer society. Close to the international and post-modern current of Neo Pop, he mixes the symbols of different cultures referring to urban graffiti, to the underground world, but also to comics and web design. Through the critical and playful language that characterizes it, even the overview of characters and symbols that the artist proposes is a great summary of the century that we left behind, with its contradictions, its stars with its new way of living the planet. In his works everything seems to mix, recombine, reproduce, hide and reappear following the game of possibilities, or rather, the statistical law of probability: Milan, London, Paris, Los Angeles, Rome, Kiev, Florence, his works are exhibited in various museums both national and international and are appreciated by collectors around the world.
